Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that all machinery, equipment and systems operate reliably, efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting production continuity and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute routine preventive maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they cause failure.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures and policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, faults and repairs.
• Manage spare‑part inventory and maintenance supplies.
• Monitor maintenance costs and budgets, ensuring cost‑effective operations.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA).
• Perform quality checks to verify proper function and safety of equipment.
• Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Supervise junior technicians, contractors and technical teams as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or a related engineering field (required or preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience diagnosing and repairing machinery.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage maintenance budgets.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems maintenance.
• Strong ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting system schematics and engineering drawings.
• Experience operating and maintaining a wide range of tools, including heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with OSHA and EPA safety regulations and implementation of safety protocols.
