Mechanical Supervisor - Shutdown / Turnaround

About the role

ABIS is looking for a Mechanical Supervisor specializing in shutdown and turnaround operations in the oil and gas sector. The supervisor leads mechanical teams during planned shutdowns and turnaround activities, making sure all mechanical work is done safely, efficiently and to quality standards. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical work during shutdown and turnaround projects
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
• Manage daily work schedules and allocate resources effectively
• Coordinate with project team members and contractors
• Monitor progress of mechanical tasks and report status and issues
• Ensure quality control measures are implemented and maintained
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for the team
• Identify and resolve operational problems promptly to avoid delays

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical supervision, especially in shutdown and turnaround activities
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance practices and safety standards
• Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and quality standards
