Mechanical Technician – Maintenance & Operations

About the role

The Mechanical Technician will be based on‑site on an on‑off cycle, responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical equipment across PV power generation, RO desalination, and bio‑diesel generator systems.

Key responsibilities

• Promptly diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns, following approved procedures.
• Execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal plant downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and inventory.
• Manage isolations and permits to work, acting as Isolation Authority when authorized.

Required profile

• Diploma or HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in power, desalination, or similar industrial plants.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and familiarity with CMMS and MS Office.

Required skills

• Pumps (including high‑pressure), valves, and generator auxiliaries.
• Welding (including Super Duplex) and heat‑exchanger maintenance.
• Vibration analysis, pump/motor alignment, and RO plant equipment upkeep.
• HVAC system knowledge and ability to read technical drawings.
