Mechanical Technician Supervisor – Typhoon Aircraft

About the role

This hands‑on leadership position supports Typhoon aircraft operations in a fast‑paced defence aviation environment overseas. You will oversee scheduled mechanical maintenance, ensure compliance with airworthiness standards and drive team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out and supervise scheduled mechanical maintenance in line with approved programmes.
• Perform inspections, modifications, component removal/installation and system testing.
• Diagnose faults and assist with aircraft recovery activities.
• Hold Second Signature responsibilities, verifying accuracy and compliance of completed work.
• Maintain aircraft airworthiness documentation and ensure all personal authorisations are current.
• Identify training gaps, support team development and uphold high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and FOD control.
• Support Quality Assurance investigations and respond to technical queries.

Required profile

• Completed recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ/ONC/OND/BTEC level.
• Or hold a current or lapsed Part 66 licence or comparable qualification.
• Minimum 7 years post‑qualification experience in operational aircraft maintenance, or at least 3 years on Typhoon aircraft.
• Formal, recorded workplace training and completion of Typhoon type‑specific training (Typhoon Q Course).
