Mid-senior Electrical Engineer – Building Projects

About the role

IDOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its Buildings team in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on the design, calculation and coordination of electrical installations for large‑scale building projects, working within a BIM‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and calculate low‑voltage electrical systems, including lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution, earthing, lightning protection and cable containment.
• Develop photovoltaic installation layouts and perform related calculations.
• Produce detailed engineering documentation and Excel‑based calculation spreadsheets.
• Collaborate with architectural, structural and MEP disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Utilise BIM workflows and Autodesk Revit for model coordination and clash detection.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical building services design for international or complex projects.
• Strong command of English (C1) and Arabic; additional languages are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, maintain technical rigor and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.
