MMS Operator

About the role

The MMS Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a mobile mapping system on data‑collection vehicles. The role involves safe navigation, data acquisition, and ensuring high‑quality geospatial data for downstream processing.

Key responsibilities

• Mount, configure, operate, and monitor the mobile mapping system, 360° panoramic camera, GPS equipment and related hardware.
• Collect, download, organize, and post‑process raw sensor data (point cloud, imagery, GPS) and transfer it to the processing centre.
• Maintain daily operation logs, prepare activity/incident reports, and perform quality‑control checks on source data streams.
• Troubleshoot system issues, coordinate fixes with technical staff or hardware vendors, and assist with system installation and removal on vehicles.
• Follow vehicle maintenance schedules and safety standards while guiding the car captain in various environments.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS or related field preferred.
• Experience with field data collection, surveying or mapping operations.
• Driving licence and ability to work in urban, rural and unfamiliar areas.
• Fluent in Arabic; English preferred.
