About the role

The Nurse Manager oversees daily patient care operations, leads the nursing team, and ensures high‑quality clinical outcomes. Reporting to the Unit Director, the role balances staff development, patient safety, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate nursing staff to maintain appropriate patient‑to‑nurse ratios based on acuity and expertise.
• Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate nursing personnel; mentor staff for professional growth.
• Monitor adherence to nursing protocols, policies, and standards; track patient outcomes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, review, and adjust patient care plans.
• Oversee daily unit operations, manage staffing levels, patient flow, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
• Identify patient safety risks, conduct root‑cause analyses, and lead quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Organize and lead crisis simulation drills; respond to emergencies as primary leader.
• Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, address concerns, and enhance the overall patient experience.
