Nursing Manager

About the role

The Nursing Manager oversees all nursing units to ensure continuous, high‑quality patient care in line with departmental objectives and organizational policies. This senior leadership position coordinates clinical and administrative functions, supports unit leaders, and drives improvements in service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and deliver nursing reports covering clinical and administrative aspects of patient care.
• Conduct regular departmental visits to assess unit needs and support head or charge nurses.
• Review nursing care plans and guide staff through the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation process.
• Monitor adherence to policies, procedures, quality, and safety standards during environmental rounds.
• Interpret hospital and nursing policies for staff and ensure uniform implementation.
• Evaluate the quality of patient care and maintain professional nursing ethics.
• Coordinate orientation, evaluation, and staffing plans for nursing and non‑nursing personnel.
• Ensure timely renewal of nursing licensure and registrations in partnership with HR.
• Manage patient bed allocation, transfers, and emergency decision‑making (e.g., sentinel events, CPR, disaster response).
• Collaborate with department heads, total quality manager, medical director, and operations manager on critical situations.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current licensure and registration.
• Proven experience supervising nursing staff in a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of nursing care processes, quality and safety standards, and hospital policies.
• Ability to handle high‑stress situations, including emergencies, CPR, and rapid patient deterioration.
• Excellent communication and disciplinary skills.
