Part‑Time Field IT Support Engineer (Dispatch/On‑Need)

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Field IT Support Engineer to provide on‑site dispatch assistance for our client in Khamis Mushait. The role is on‑need, with tickets raised in advance and a typical workload of 1‑2 visits per month, allowing you to combine it with other employment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to dispatched tickets within the agreed 24‑hour notice and travel to the client site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and operating system issues on desktops, laptops, printers and other peripherals.
• Perform “Smart Hands” activities such as connecting networking equipment, cabling, and rack installations under remote guidance.
• Document incidents, follow problem‑management procedures and suggest preventive actions.
• Maintain compliance with warranty and security policies while on‑site.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of hands‑on field support experience with IT infrastructure.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lb and to travel to the site during business hours.
• Own laptop for remote support sessions.
• Associate degree in electronics or related field is preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification is a plus.

Required skills

• Desktop/end‑user support and PC break/fix.
• Windows OS administration (basic), Mac/Linux OS (preferred).
• Hardware troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals.
• Fundamental LAN/WAN concepts and TCP/IP networking.
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VPN and RDP.
• Smart Hands support for switches, routers, firewalls, racks and cabling.
