Patient Care Technician

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides essential support to nursing staff and acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families within a clinical setting. The role involves both direct patient care and coordination of clinic activities to ensure smooth operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clinic readiness, cleanliness, and supply levels on a daily basis.
• Assist physicians during examinations and prepare required equipment for procedures.
• Organise patient flow, track status, and facilitate lab, radiology, and other investigations.
• Process admissions, referrals, and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Answer telephone calls courteously, relay messages, and respond to visitor enquiries.
• Adhere to JCIA/CBAHI patient‑safety standards, infection‑control policies, and confidentiality requirements.
• Perform basic nursing procedures within the PCT scope, including vital‑signs checks, pulse‑oximetry, weight/height measurement, glucose testing, and ECG assessments.
• Provide patient and family education, support emergency measures, and participate in person‑centred care initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field.
• Completion of a recognized PCT program.
• Valid Saudi Council license.
• BLS certification.
• Fresh graduates with interest in healthcare are welcome; prior healthcare experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Operation of pulse oximeter and ECG equipment.
• Vital‑signs monitoring and documentation.
• Glucose (glucometer) testing.
• Basic patient education and communication.
• Adherence to infection‑control and safety protocols.
