Patient Care Technician

About the role

Provide essential support to nursing staff and act as a liaison between physicians, patients and families within a clinical setting. The Patient Care Technician assists with direct and indirect patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations and high‑quality patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clinic readiness, cleanliness and supplies on a daily basis.
• Assist physicians during examinations and prepare required equipment for procedures.
• Organise patient flow, coordinate clinic activities and ensure completion of required documentation such as claims and referrals.
• Track patient status and facilitate lab, radiology or other investigations.
• Process admissions and referrals accurately and promptly.
• Answer telephone calls courteously, relay messages and respond to visitor enquiries.
• Adhere to JCIA/CBAHI patient‑safety standards, infection‑control policies and nursing documentation procedures.
• Maintain patient privacy, initiate emergency and resuscitative measures when needed, and provide patient/family education.
• Perform nursing‑related procedures within the PCT scope: vital‑signs monitoring, pulse‑oximetry, weight/height measurement, glucose checks, ECG and pain assessment.
• Report observations to supervisors, guide patients to investigation areas and participate in person‑centred care initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• Successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program.
• Preferably some healthcare experience; fresh graduates with interest in healthcare are also considered.
• Valid Saudi Council license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Compliance with MOH licensing regulations and HMG competency requirements.
