Payroll Accountant

About the role

Saudi Gold Refinery is seeking a Payroll Accountant in Riyadh to manage accurate and timely payroll processing for its refining and corporate workforce, ensuring compliance with Saudi labor laws, GOSI regulations, and the Wage Protection System.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly payroll cycles, validating attendance, shift allowances, and overtime for plant and office staff.
• Manage statutory filings including GOSI subscriptions, Mudad wage protection uploads, and ZATCA reports.
• Reconcile payroll bank transfers with general ledger entries and prepare related journal entries.
• Maintain employee master data in the HRIS system, aligning with contracts and visa statuses.
• Provide payroll journals, variance analyses, and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Respond to employee inquiries on payslips, deductions, and end‑of‑service benefits.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll workflows.
• Calculate final settlements for departing employees, including pro‑rated salaries and leave encashment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• At least three years of payroll accounting experience in Saudi Arabia, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Labor Law, GOSI rules and Wage Protection System.
• Fluency in English and working proficiency in Arabic.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, logical functions).
• Experience with HRIS and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy during monthly closing.
