Pharmacist – Hospital/Clinical Pharmacy Role

About the role

This position is for a qualified pharmacist to work within a hospital or clinical setting, ensuring safe and effective medication use for patients. The role involves direct patient interaction, medication preparation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimise therapeutic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety.
• Advise on dosage forms and provide guidance on tablets, injections, ointments, inhalers, etc.
• Document medication information promptly and accurately.
• Publish educational material for healthcare professionals and patients.
• Participate in patient rounds, take drug histories, and contribute to treatment decisions.
• Ensure proper storage, security, and monthly verification of medicines.
• Supervise less‑experienced pharmacy staff and conduct double‑checks on medication preparation.
• Prepare and quality‑check sterile and high‑alert medications, including intravenous products.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow all safety protocols.
• Track latest research developments and establish drug‑use guidelines.
• Contribute to clinical quality indicators, performance improvement activities, and patient‑satisfaction initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• At least one year of experience in a pharmacist role, preferably in a dialysis or hospital environment.
• Current registered pharmacist licence from the country of origin and a Saudi Commission for Health Specialties licence.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the Saudi or American Heart Association.
