Port Engineer - Shore Based Position

About the role

The Port Engineer will be based onshore in Saudi Arabia, overseeing vessel operations, maintenance and repairs for non‑DP crew boats and offshore security patrol boats. The role ensures safe and efficient functioning of marine assets and supports day‑to‑day vessel management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily vessel management and oversee maintenance activities.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety and maritime regulations.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams and third‑party service providers to optimise performance.
• Be prepared to act as temporary Chief Engineer on assigned vessels.
• Undergo evaluation by Saudi Aramco as Chief Engineer for the specific vessel type.

Required profile

• Minimum four years experience as Chief Engineer on non‑DP crew boats or offshore security patrol boats.
• Ability to assume temporary Chief Engineer duties at any time.
• Mandatory documents: Certificate of Competency, all STCW certificates, valid passport (≥6 months), valid Seaman Book (≥6 months), Marlins Test ≥80%, medical fitness (≥3 months), H2S Familiarisation Course.
• Previous Saudi Aramco approvals as Chief/Port Engineer for crew/patrol boats.
• BOSIET and HUET certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related field.
• Prior experience in a similar Port Engineer or marine sector role is preferred.
