Process Engineer – Power Generation & Utilities

About the role

The Process Engineer will optimise and maintain power generation, utility and energy systems at JIGPC’s integrated facilities. You will focus on improving efficiency, reliability and safety while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across combined‑cycle and cogeneration plants.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and optimise power generation and utility processes to maximise output and reliability.
• Monitor plant performance using KPIs, process data and advanced analytics.
• Perform heat and mass balance calculations and identify operational improvement opportunities.
• Lead energy‑efficiency projects and support advanced process‑control implementation.
• Investigate upsets, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Provide engineering support for CCPP, GTG, STG, HRSG, cogeneration and utility systems.
• Participate in engineering studies, plant modifications, commissioning and performance testing.
• Drive continuous‑improvement programmes using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in large‑scale power generation or cogeneration plants.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret process data and trends.
• Experience in troubleshooting, RCA and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with plant commissioning, shutdown and startup activities.
• Commitment to safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus for process simulation.
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma improvement tools.
• Ability to conduct heat and mass balance calculations.
• Experience with performance monitoring and data analytics for turbines, HRSGs and utility systems.
