Procurement Manager

About the role

The Procurement Manager leads Aviagen's procurement function during construction and operational phases, ensuring the timely, cost-effective and sustainable acquisition of goods, materials, equipment and services. The role covers strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, procurement governance, cost optimization and continuous improvement, working closely with Project Managers, Design, Engineering and Construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies and procedures, and plan procurement activities to ensure timely availability of goods and services
• Identify, qualify and develop local and international suppliers, maintain an approved supplier list and evaluate supplier performance
• Manage RFQs, RFPs, tenders and supplier selection, and collaborate with engineering on Bills of Quantities using tools such as Excel, Cype, Arquímedes, Presto or similar
• Draft and review tender documents and construction contracts, lead commercial negotiations and administer procurement contracts
• Coordinate delivery, inspection and acceptance of materials on site, and manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice reconciliation and supplier performance monitoring
• Manage procurement budgets, costs, cash flow, forecasting and change orders, and lead value engineering and cost optimization
• Maintain inventory levels, coordinate supply planning and support supply chain continuity
• Assess and mitigate procurement risks, ensure compliance with policies, internal controls and laws, and promote sustainable procurement
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Production, Quality and Logistics, and report on KPIs, savings and service levels

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Procurement, Operations Management or a related discipline
• Professional procurement qualifications (CIPS or equivalent) desirable
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive procurement experience, including leadership
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation and procurement operations
• Proficiency in quantity take-off tools (Arquímedes, Presto, etc.)
• Experience implementing procurement systems, policies and process improvements
• Excellent written and spoken English; previous procurement experience in integrated construction projects is highly preferred, and poultry industry experience is a key advantage

• ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent)
• Advanced Microsoft Office; Power BI or other reporting tools are an advantage
• Quantity take-off tools (Arquímedes, Presto, Cype)
