Production Planning Officer

About the role

The Production Planning Officer is responsible for ensuring optimal material inventory levels and smooth production continuity. This role works closely with sales, warehouse, production, and purchasing teams to align supply with demand and maintain accurate forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and improve forecasting activities using sales history, SKU data, and channel information.
• Prepare, monitor, and report inventory measures and performance indicators.
• Develop, maintain, and update Master Production Schedules (MPS) and weekly production schedules.
• Coordinate with Sales, Finished Goods Warehouse, and Distribution to manage sales orders, back‑orders, and stock transfers.
• Collaborate with production, purchasing, and raw‑material teams to ensure continuity based on issued schedules.
• Monitor execution of the production plan, resolve issues promptly, and escalate problems when necessary.
• Analyze root causes of production problems and propose corrective actions.
• Recommend liquidation plans for slow‑moving material and manage phasing in/out projects.
• Minimize obsolete stock and maintain documentation for planning processes.
• Follow departmental policies, SOPs, and safety/environmental guidelines.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities aligned with international best practices.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in demand forecasting and inventory management.
• Excellent coordination skills across sales, warehouse, production, and purchasing functions.
• Ability to monitor production schedules, resolve issues, and drive corrective actions.
• Knowledge of material planning concepts, MPS, and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Commitment to safety, environmental standards, and adherence to SOPs.
