Professor of Biomedical Sciences

About the role

The university seeks a senior academic leader to drive excellence in biomedical sciences through graduate teaching, research supervision, and the creation of innovative research programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, organize and deliver graduate‑level courses in molecular biology, genomics, immunology, biochemistry and bioinformatics.
• Design curricula that meet international standards and Ministry of Education requirements.
• Lead independent and collaborative research programs aligned with hospital research priorities.
• Secure competitive research funding and publish at least two high‑impact peer‑reviewed papers per year.
• Supervise and mentor PhD and MD‑PhD students, ensuring high‑quality research outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinical, translational and research teams across KFSHRC and Alfaisal University.
• Participate in faculty development, academic governance, accreditation and quality‑assurance activities.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in a biomedical science discipline from an accredited institution.
• Minimum six years of post‑doctoral experience in research and teaching.
• Proven record of securing research funding and publishing in reputable journals.
• Experience supervising graduate students and contributing to interdisciplinary academic programs.
