Programme Management Officer – Human Settlements

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a Programme Management Officer to lead the implementation of a multi‑year urban development project in Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of four workstreams: Spatial Planning Act, National Urban Policy, municipal system classification, and the establishment of a National Urban Lab.
• Develop, implement and evaluate programme components, monitor progress, analyse results and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with UN‑Habitat’s Regional Office for the Arab States, the Head of Country Programme and other stakeholders.
• Support broader UN‑Habitat programme activities in Saudi Arabia, including housing, informal settlements, urban planning, urban economy, legislation and information management.
• Conduct consulting assignments, facilitate workshops and assist partners in developing action plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in programme or project management within urban development or related sectors.
• Strong analytical skills to monitor and evaluate programme performance.
• Ability to prepare and review technical documents, reports and policy drafts.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills with government and UN partners.
