Project Engineer – 380kV Substation Projects

About the role

The Project Engineer will provide technical and coordination support for 380 kV substation projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and international standards while delivering safe, on‑time, and cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project execution plans, schedules and allocate resources for 380 kV substation works.
• Coordinate design, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to meet task deadlines.
• Review engineering drawings, technical documents and vendor submittals for compliance with IEC, IEEE, SEC and other standards.
• Oversee installation of GIS, transformers, protection & control systems, HV equipment and related auxiliaries.
• Conduct site inspections, verify work against approved drawings and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Support testing and commissioning activities, including FAT and SAT, to prepare systems for energisation.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors, supporting progress reporting and approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• 5–7 years experience in power transmission projects, with at least 3–5 years on 380 kV substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, SEC standards and substation automation concepts.
• Post‑graduate or specialised training in Power Systems, Substation Engineering or Project Management is an advantage.
