Project Engineer – Machine Vision & Surface Inspection

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our Machine Vision and Surface Inspection Solutions business. You will lead customer projects from requirements analysis through design, installation, commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of Machine Vision and Surface Inspection projects, from initiation to final acceptance.
• Analyse customer manufacturing, assembly and inspection processes to define technical requirements.
• Develop application concepts and propose tailored inspection and automation solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, application testing and proof‑of‑concept evaluations.
• Coordinate activities with customers, suppliers, internal engineering teams and other stakeholders.
• Design, configure and optimise vision systems – cameras, optics, lighting, software and automation interfaces.
• Prepare project documentation, technical specifications, layouts, schedules and progress reports.
• Oversee system installation, commissioning, calibration, testing and validation at customer sites.
• Identify, track and mitigate project risks while ensuring adherence to timelines.
• Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT) and customer sign‑off processes.
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Deliver customer training on system operation, maintenance and best practices.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development during pre‑sales technical discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 2‑5 years of experience in Project Engineering, Application Engineering, Industrial Automation, Machine Vision or Inspection Systems.
• Experience managing technical projects in manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
• Strong understanding of industrial production processes, quality inspection systems and automation technologies.
