Project Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering the plant industry (oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition, environmental, industrial and bio), is hiring a Project Engineer in Al Jubail. This is a mid-level, full-time position focused on maintaining and ensuring project management activities, including planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate works by function, identify risks and propose countermeasures, and check engineering and procurement progress while resolving pending issues.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, licensors and internal departments, receive permit approvals and handle complaints.
• Review ITB contracts and scopes of work, and ensure technical integrity and compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain project activities so they meet schedule, cost and quality standards, and prepare project plans and gate meetings.
• Drive interface management and reporting with the client's engineering, operations and maintenance staff, and review contractor and supplier submittals.
• Coordinate technical bid evaluation and the technical bid evaluation report, and monitor design, procurement, construction and commissioning progress.
• Manage pending issues and claims, and identify and report risks and mitigation strategies.
• Compile data, check estimates and specification discrepancies, and follow up on functional and construction details and client requests.
• Support commissioning activities such as punch lists, walk-throughs and handover documents, and prepare close-out binder documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical or civil) or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in project management or a related field.
• Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plant projects, and in an engineering and construction company.
• Ability to manage multiple project activities at once, strong communication skills, and knowledge of oil and gas industry processes and regulations.
