Purchasing Officer

About the role
The Purchasing Officer will manage the sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, tools, and services for construction and maintenance projects. The role ensures cost‑effective purchasing while maintaining compliance with project specifications and company policies.
Key responsibilities
- Source and procure required items for ongoing projects and operations.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from approved suppliers based on price, quality, delivery time, and compliance.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost‑effective procurement.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely processing in line with company procedures.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, and department heads to understand requirements and delivery priorities.
- Monitor delivery schedules, follow up with suppliers, and ensure timely supply to project sites.
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new vendors to improve efficiency.
- Verify purchased materials against specifications and approved vendor lists.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, quotation comparisons, purchase orders, and delivery documentation.
- Collaborate with the accounts department on invoices, payments, and supplier reconciliations.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Support tendering and estimation stages by providing budgetary quotations and market pricing.
- Prepare periodic procurement reports, cost comparisons, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and enhance supplier performance.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3‑5 years of purchasing and procurement experience in contracting, construction, or maintenance environments.
- Familiarity with Saudi Aramco projects and procurement procedures is preferred.
- Good knowledge of local Saudi suppliers, subcontractors, and material sourcing.
- Strong negotiation, cost‑control, and vendor‑management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and time‑management skills.
