QC Inspector - Preservation (Stationery)

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and O&M across oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical and energy transition sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for preservation (stationery) in Jubail. The inspector performs quality activities according to the quality management system, sets up inspection and test plans and records, and manages mechanical discipline inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and perform inspection of the mechanical discipline, including setting and applying practical inspection processes and preparing ITPs and inspection matrices.
• Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) with sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Review and approve subcontractor quality documents such as ITPs and Material Approval Requests, and prepare and approve inspection reports.
• Control NCRs so they are closed within the due date and support the preparation of corrective action plans.
• Coordinate inspections with the client and act as QC Supervisor in their absence.
• Hold toolbox talks with the construction team to control quality violations and review and track material submittals before preparatory meetings.
• Inspect incoming material deliveries, confirm specifications against approved submittals, run visual and measurement tests with the logistics team, and reject unacceptable materials.
• Monitor mechanical activities such as site erection of static and rotating equipment, and ensure critical checks like flange parallelism, final alignment and final inspection follow contract and specification requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Certified by API (API 653 and API 510).
• Overall experience of 5 years, with 3 years in inspection specialty or field and 2 years managing the contract scope of work.
• Direct experience and thorough knowledge of static and rotating mechanical equipment, commodities, materials construction, pre-commissioning and quality activities.
• Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASTM, API, IEC, NEMA, UL, FM, NFPA, ASME BPVC, ANSI/ASME B31.x, NACE SPs, API 620, API 650, AWS D1.1).
• Ability to plan and control inspections for medium-scale projects (0.5 to 1.5 billion dollars).
• Aramco experience is a must; if you have an SAP No. and passed the CBT, mention it in your CV.
