QC Supervisor - Instrumentation

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Supervisor for Instrumentation in Jubail. The supervisor plans and controls quality activities within the instrumentation discipline according to the QC Manager's quality management system, manages inspectors and leads quality inspections and tests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quality procedures, inspection test plans (ITP), request for inspection summaries, logs (LBE, INCR, SA-NCR) and the two-week look-ahead schedule
• Manage work performance and quality indicators, coordinate with other disciplines and liaise with clients on quality issues and NCRs
• Lead and supervise quality inspectors and subcontractor QC inspectors, and attend external third-party audits at 15% and 60% completion
• Ensure calibrated tools and instruments, witness tests at sub-vendors and laboratories, and inspect materials and equipment on site
• Initiate and follow up on NCRs and Corrective Action Requests, close observations and complaints, and prepare QA/QC logs and the monthly quality report
• Implement the contract quality plan, construction quality procedure and ITP, and participate in toolbox talks, internal audits and quality meetings

Required profile

• University degree with 7 years of inspection experience, or high school diploma with 10 years; at least 3 years supervising construction in oil, gas, petrochemical or infrastructure projects
• Experience evaluating factory acceptance tests and familiarity with intrinsically safe and electrical instrumentation codes (API RP 551, ISA, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEC)
• Working knowledge of DCS, SCADA, RTU and ESD systems, and OSP/PDS telecommunications (BICSI-TDMM, NEC)
• Aramco experience is needed

Required skills

• ITP study, punch clear management and implementation, pre-inspection and RFI management
• Use of FMCS and SCMS systems for quality control
• Quality documentation, client management, problem solving and decision making
