Quality Inspector

About the role

The Quality Inspector will support quality assurance across incoming, in‑process, and final inspection activities for Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) components and assemblies. The role ensures compliance with internal and industry standards while managing calibration of inspection equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of raw materials and machined components upon receipt.
• Review material test certificates, certificates of conformity, and inspection reports.
• Conduct in‑process inspections during machining and assembly to verify drawings and specifications.
• Inspect critical features such as impeller/diffuser clearances, stack lengths, rotor fits, keyways, and other tolerance‑critical areas.
• Validate and record first‑article inspection results according to control plans.
• Support assembly and test operations by inspecting sub‑assemblies and final ESP pump assemblies.
• Identify non‑conformances, assist in root‑cause investigations and containment actions.
• Monitor calibration due dates, coordinate calibration activities, and maintain up‑to‑date certificates.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in quality inspection within ESP manufacturing or similar rotating‑equipment industry.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, API Q1 and relevant oil‑&‑gas manufacturing standards.
• Professional written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Use of inspection tools: calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges.
• Understanding of GD&T and engineering tolerances.
• Familiarity with calibration systems and measurement traceability.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and API Q1 quality management systems.
• Basic competence with NDE/NDT techniques (plus).
• Computer literacy for inspection data recording.
