Quality Lab Lead

About the role

The Quality Lab Lead is responsible for overseeing supply and system quality, including quality control of inbound raw and packaging materials and ex‑factory quality operations. You will manage laboratory procedures, hygiene programs, HACCP studies, and external audits while ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the factory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Laboratory to sample, analyze, record, and release finished goods, bulk, raw, and packaging materials according to Unilever specifications.
• Strengthen sampling, inspection, and testing procedures to prevent line failures and efficiency losses.
• Support warehouses in monitoring and controlling raw and packaging material handling, transport, and storage.
• Develop suppliers to control inbound non‑conformances and lead supplier quality improvement projects.
• Ensure calibration and monitoring of all quality and process lab instruments.
• Manage product non‑conformances, including physical and system blocking, investigations, and preventive actions.
• Develop analytical methods for new products, raw and packaging materials, and coordinate with R&D, production, and complaint management.
• Represent Quality in capability trials, innovation meetings, and act as QA Manager delegate when required.
• Implement and validate Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP ISO 22716, SASO, SFDA) across the factory.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a quality laboratory in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage supplier quality improvement projects.
• Experience ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP (ISO 22716) and local regulatory requirements.
• Strong background in handling non‑conformances, investigations, and preventive actions.
