Quality Manager – Event Fabrication

About the role

The Quality Manager will oversee the quality assurance process for custom‑built event structures in the workshop, ensuring they meet client specifications, safety standards and structural integrity before delivery and installation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document and enforce a quality management system with SOPs for carpentry, metal fabrication, printing, foam, painting and assembly.
• Participate in pre‑production design reviews to assess feasibility and compliance with safety, legal and environmental standards.
• Conduct in‑process inspections and audits to detect deviations early.
• Perform final inspections of completed structures for cosmetic, structural and functional compliance before release.
• Inspect incoming raw materials and supplier quality.
• Lead investigations of non‑conforming items, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure health and safety compliance, including electrical safety for scenic elements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for client certifications, material traceability and safety audits.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to resolve quality issues and manage expectations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality management, preferably in event fabrication or construction.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication (welding) and carpentry, finishing techniques and blueprint interpretation.
• ISO 9001 lead auditor training highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead a small team of technicians, inspectors or assemblers.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills under tight deadlines.
