Receiving Clerk

About the role

The Receiving Clerk ensures that all goods, materials and supplies arriving at the hotel are accurately received, inspected and recorded. This position supports smooth operations by matching deliveries to purchase orders, documenting any discrepancies and maintaining up‑to‑date inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and unload all incoming goods, materials and supplies from vendors.
• Inspect deliveries to verify quantity, quality and specifications against purchase orders.
• Validate delivery documentation such as invoices, delivery notes and purchase orders.
• Record received items accurately in the inventory or procurement system.
• Report and document damaged, missing or incorrect items.
• Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
• Label, tag and store received stock in designated areas.
• Maintain receiving logs for audit and tracking purposes.
• Assist with stock counts, inventory reconciliation and preparation of receiving reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; logistics or supply‑chain diploma is a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, inventory or store operations, preferably in hospitality or retail.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, delivery notes and stock documentation.

Required skills

• Experience with inventory or ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle NetSuite.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for record‑keeping and reporting.
