Recreation Manager

About the role

As Recreation Manager at SLS The Red Sea, you will lead the full spectrum of leisure activities for guests, from kids and teen clubs to pool, beach, fitness and sports facilities. You will combine creative programming with operational excellence to deliver memorable experiences that reflect the bold, playful spirit of the resort.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all recreation areas, including Kids & Teens Club, pool, beach, fitness centre, sports courts and resort‑wide activities.
• Develop and implement daily, weekly and seasonal programmes that blend sports, fitness, cultural and family experiences.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, adhering to SLS standards and local regulations.
• Recruit, schedule, train and motivate a multicultural recreation team, maintaining high guest‑engagement standards.
• Monitor guest participation, gather feedback and continuously refine the offering.
• Manage budgeting, purchasing, inventory and third‑party service providers.
• Coordinate special events, tournaments, themed activities and holiday programmes in partnership with other hotel departments.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Recreation Management, Sports Management, Physical Education or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 4–5 years of recreation experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior supervisory role, ideally in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Proven experience managing kids club, sports, fitness, pool and beach programmes.
• Strong knowledge of child safeguarding, activity safety and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with hotel or recreation operating systems.
