Reliability Engineer – Aluminum Recycling

About the role

The Reliability Engineer will establish and lead the reliability and asset management function for a new greenfield Aluminum Recycling Plant. You will design maintenance systems and reliability strategies from scratch to ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and low life‑cycle cost from the first hot metal onward.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the plant maintenance management system, including CMMS/EAM asset hierarchy, equipment register, and data structure.
• Develop equipment criticality assessments, risk rankings, and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
• Create spare‑parts philosophy, define min/max inventory levels, and establish insurance‑spare strategies.
• Set reliability KPIs (availability, MTBF, MTTR) and build reporting frameworks.
• Lead root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) for chronic and high‑impact failures and drive corrective actions.
• Apply Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and bad‑actor analysis to improve equipment reliability.
• Support commissioning and early operation by delivering complete maintenance strategies.
• Monitor asset performance, analyse downtime data, and drive continuous reliability improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in reliability engineering or maintenance management for industrial or recycling facilities.
• Strong knowledge of CMMS/EAM implementation and asset hierarchy design.
• Hands‑on experience with equipment criticality assessment, preventive and predictive maintenance planning.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct RCFA, RCM, and FMEA studies.
• Experience supporting plant commissioning and early‑stage operations.
• Analytical mindset with ability to track KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
