Resident Construction Engineer – Architect

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Resident Construction Engineer – Architect to lead on‑site construction monitoring and architectural oversight for multiple contracts. The role ensures that design intent, budget, schedule, quality, safety and contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor multiple construction contracts and architectural field activities to verify compliance with scope, procedures, cost, schedule, installation and quality requirements.
• Oversee architectural elements such as building facades, envelope systems, interior finishes, fit‑outs, detailing, aesthetics, accessibility and code compliance.
• Implement and adhere to the QA/QC program, safety regulations and project specifications during all work activities.
• Provide guidance to contractors on schedules, procedures, scope of work and documentation requirements.
• Plan, organize, monitor and follow up on contractor activities, ensuring proper inspections are conducted and documented.
• Review method statements, material submittals, shop drawings and as‑built drawings for contractual compliance and obtain engineering approvals.
• Identify design discrepancies, coordinate with structural, MEP and landscape disciplines, and recommend schedule adjustments when needed.
• Compile technical data and prepare weekly/monthly reports on progress, cost and quality control.
• Assist senior engineers in administrative functions and correspondence with contractors and internal departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction monitoring and architectural field supervision.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, safety regulations and building code compliance.
• Ability to coordinate architectural elements with structural, MEP and landscape systems.
• Excellent document review skills, including method statements, submittals, shop drawings and as‑built drawings.
• Effective communication skills for guiding contractors and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
