Resident Construction Engineer - Civil

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Resident Construction Engineer – Civil to oversee both administrative and on‑site construction activities. You will ensure that civil and structural works are delivered in line with design, budget, schedule, quality, safety, environmental and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor multiple contracts and civil/structural field activities, ensuring compliance with scope, procedures, cost, schedule and quality.
• Oversee earthworks, building structures, roads, underground utilities and external civil works, coordinating with architectural, MEP, landscape and infrastructure systems.
• Implement QA/QC programs, safety regulations and environmental requirements throughout construction.
• Provide technical clarifications to contractors on schedules, procedures and scope of work.
• Plan, organize, monitor and follow up on contractor activities, supervising inspections and tests.
• Observe testing, assess conformance with contract documents, and document results.
• Review job plans, method statements, inspection and test plans, material submittals, shop drawings and as‑built drawings for compliance.
• Identify design discrepancies, coordinate with other departments and resolve schedule or specification conflicts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in civil and structural construction monitoring.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to interpret and enforce contract documents and specifications.
• Excellent coordination skills with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
