Resident Inspector – Civil (O&M)

About the role

The Resident Inspector – Civil (Operations & Maintenance) ensures that metro and rail civil assets are inspected, maintained, and kept in compliance with safety and quality standards. You will supervise daily inspections, oversee maintenance activities, and guarantee that all works meet contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections of stations, tunnels, viaducts, bridges, depots and track structures.
• Monitor and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring timely defect closure.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, international standards and Saudi regulations.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, NCRs and produce daily and periodic reports.
• Ensure adherence to HSE regulations, identify safety hazards and support safety audits.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, contractors, subcontractors and O&M teams to resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5‑10 years of experience in civil works for metro/rail projects, with at least 3‑5 years in an O&M environment.
• Experience in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia, is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural setting.

Required skills

• Concrete structures, bridges, tunnels and station building knowledge.
• Track‑related civil works (ballasted and ballastless).
• Structural inspection and maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, BS, EN) and Saudi regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical reports.
