Risk Manager – SDU-100 – DA3

About the role

The Risk Manager role is central to SDU’s mandate to embed and sustain the Risk Management Framework across all Business Units, strengthen organisational risk culture, and ensure consistent compliance with governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and rollout of a risk‑management training and awareness programme to improve risk literacy across the organisation.
• Design and deliver capability‑building initiatives that align with the approved Risk Management Framework and the company’s risk appetite.
• Provide governance, audit‑readiness and compliance support, monitoring control effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
• Act as a central risk manager for smaller or less mature business units, supporting risk register creation and mitigation processes.
• Develop technical risk content, training materials and thought‑leadership pieces to elevate the risk‑management community.
• Integrate insurance risk and development risk functions within the broader GRC framework, ensuring alignment with overall governance.

Required profile

• Advanced academic qualifications in risk, finance, insurance or a related field.
• Proven experience in insurance risk and development risk management.
• Strong ability to engage with multiple business units and embed risk practices.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and audit‑support skills.
