SCADA Technician - Oil & Gas

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting a Scada Technician for a prominent client in Saudi Arabia within the Oil & Gas industry. The role covers the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems so that plant processes run reliably and efficiently. The technician works with multidisciplinary teams to optimise system performance and give timely technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain SCADA system hardware and software components.
• Troubleshoot issues related to SCADA communications, data acquisition and control systems.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep systems reliable and available.
• Work with engineering, operations and IT teams to implement system upgrades and improvements.
• Maintain detailed documentation such as system configurations, maintenance records and incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and industry standards.
• Provide technical support and training to operators and junior technicians.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a SCADA Technician or in a similar role in the Oil & Gas or industrial sector.
• Willingness to work in Saudi Arabia and adapt to local work conditions.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, including hardware, software and communication protocols.
• Experience with DCS, PLCs and HMI.
• Familiarity with network configuration, cybersecurity practices and industrial communication standards.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.
