Senior Chiller Technician

About the role

Carrier is looking for a skilled, customer-focused Senior Chiller Technician in Dammam to carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of HVAC and chiller systems. The successful candidate ensures reliable equipment performance, high-quality service and compliance with company procedures, manufacturer guidelines and EH&S requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of chillers and associated HVAC equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
• Inspect air-conditioning and chiller systems, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain, adjust and repair electrical and electronic control systems, motors, pumps, blowers, coils, belts and other components.
• Repair or replace damaged parts so equipment runs efficiently and reliably.
• Carry out site inspections, prepare technical reports and estimate labour hours, materials and tools needed.
• Complete job cards, job completion certificates, daily timesheets, maintenance records and EH&S site survey documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate with customers about the nature and progress of work and recommended improvements.
• Identify safety risks, implement control measures, and safely rig and set up gantries and lifting equipment for heavy machinery such as chillers and pumps.
• Manage tools and equipment, including inventory control where applicable, and escalate technical issues, safety concerns and resource needs to the Supervisor or Manager.
• Follow company processes, quality management standards and EH&S procedures, attend training sessions and EH&S meetings, and keep the worksite clean and organised.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or a related technical field.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Hands-on experience servicing and maintaining chiller systems is essential.
• Valid driving licence is an advantage.
• Good English communication skills and strong customer service skills.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of DX systems, airside equipment and reciprocating, screw and scroll chillers.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, equipment controls and basic building automation systems.
• Knowledge of inspection procedures, technical reporting, maintenance documentation and quality management.
• Basic knowledge of sheet metal work, electrical systems, carpentry and building automation controls.
• Basic computer skills and use of mobile applications for work orders and service reports.
