Senior Commercial Manager – Utility Compounds

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial, contractual and cost management for utility‑compound projects. You will protect the company’s commercial interests from bid through close‑out, ensuring robust contract administration, risk mitigation and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with margin and cash‑flow targets.
• Provide commercial leadership to project teams, ensuring consistent application of policies and best practices.
• Support business planning, budgeting and strategic decision‑making with commercial insight.
• Lead negotiations for major contracts, variations, claims and settlements.
• Review, negotiate and finalize prime contracts, sub‑contracts and consultancy agreements (FIDIC).
• Oversee contract administration, change management and claims procedures.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Conduct monthly cost/value reconciliations, earned‑value and margin analysis.
• Identify financial variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Establish change‑management processes and manage variations, extensions of time and loss‑and‑expense claims.
• Coordinate dispute resolution through negotiation, mediation or arbitration.
• Support procurement strategies, tendering, evaluation and contract award for key packages.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading commercial, contractual and cost management on large‑scale projects or programs.
• Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage high‑value claims.
• Strong analytical skills with a track record of accurate cost forecasting and margin protection.
• Deep knowledge of FIDIC contract terms and commercial risk allocation.
• Excellent stakeholder management with clients, partners and supply‑chain entities.
