Senior Consultant - Financial Accounting Advisory Services

About the role

EY MENA (KSA) is hiring a Senior Consultant for Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) within its Assurance practice in Riyadh. FAAS helps clients address accounting and financial reporting challenges, supporting a stronger and more efficient finance function. The role focuses on helping clients move to the latest IFRS standards, working with government entities and businesses in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Make a technical contribution to clients in a lead role across financial and non-financial service sectors
• Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships
• Execute complex assurance procedures and supervise junior team members
• Help define strategy and present findings to the client under the supervision of an assurance manager and senior manager
• Anticipate and identify risks, escalating issues as appropriate
• Check that the work plan is properly executed, documented and concluded in line with Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) guidelines
• Coach and counsel junior team members and help build a positive learning culture

Required profile

• Strong academic record including a degree
• Professional accountancy qualification or working towards one
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience
• Track record with a leading audit firm
• Ideally proficiency in Arabic

Required skills

• Familiarity with IFRS and local GAAP standards
• Understanding of risk-based auditing and risk and control strategies
• Understanding of Q&RM procedures
• Understanding of regulatory requirements
• Proactivity, accountability, results-driven approach, effective communication and resource management
