Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Gathern is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer in Riyadh. The role streamlines software delivery and strengthens collaboration between development and operations through automation, continuous integration and deployment, and shared responsibility, driving better efficiency, quality and speed of innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code to provision, configure and scale resources reliably.
• Automate deployment, monitoring and maintenance with scripting and configuration management tools.
• Work with development, QA and operations teams to integrate testing, security and deployment.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and optimise infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
• Implement and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Enforce security best practices, compliance standards and disaster recovery strategies.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure setup, deployment procedures and incident response.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging tools and methodologies to improve DevOps practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in software development, system administration or IT operations.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Eagerness to learn new DevOps tools and methodologies.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Bash and Python scripting and basic automation.
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker).
• Infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Helm.
• Configuration management tools, networking, security best practices and system monitoring.
