Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development, review and coordination of electrical designs for major construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy, constructability, cost efficiency and compliance with all relevant codes and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical drawings for power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, grounding, lightning protection and low‑current systems.
• Perform load calculations, voltage‑drop studies, short‑circuit analysis and cable sizing.
• Create single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment layouts and technical reports.
• Review tender, IFC, shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.
• Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, architectural, structural and civil disciplines and resolve design clashes.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, SEC requirements and international standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams.
• Support value engineering, material selection, testing, commissioning and preparation of as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of electrical design experience on building or large construction projects.
• Contractor‑side experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of LV and MV systems, lighting, earthing and low‑current systems.
• Experience with high‑rise, commercial, residential or mixed‑use projects.
• Excellent technical coordination, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration preferred.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
