Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

IC İçtaş Construction is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design effort on a large‑scale road project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for delivering compliant, efficient, and coordinated electrical solutions across the infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, review and coordination of all electrical systems for highway and related infrastructure.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, BOQs, load schedules, single‑line diagrams and construction drawings.
• Design power distribution networks, substations, MV/LV systems, transformer installations and backup power.
• Develop road and tunnel lighting, traffic management, ITS and utility infrastructure designs.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical and road design teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals and vendor documentation.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, voltage drop, short‑circuit, cable sizing).
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, SBC and local authority standards.
• Support construction, testing, commissioning and handover phases.
• Manage BIM models and multidisciplinary clash detection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8‑10 years of experience in electrical design for infrastructure, highways or major urban projects.
• Proven experience with road lighting, power distribution, substations, ITS and outdoor installations.
• Strong knowledge of international electrical standards (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, SBC).
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Previous experience in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, is highly preferred.
