Senior Emergency Medicine Registrar

About the role

The Senior Emergency Medicine Registrar provides high‑quality inpatient and outpatient care in the Emergency Department, working under the supervision of the Consultant/Head of ER. This role combines direct patient management with leadership responsibilities to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care within the scope of clinical privileges, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Maintain and improve the triage system in collaboration with Emergency Room nurses.
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians and other staff members.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Develop and uphold medical contingency and disaster plans.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient records.
• Lead performance‑improvement initiatives as part of the departmental quality plan.
• Engage in continuous medical education, training programs, and relevant committee work.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or equivalent qualification in Emergency Medicine.
• Current clinical privileges to practice in an emergency setting.
• Proven ability to supervise junior medical staff and lead quality‑improvement projects.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call duties and disaster‑plan activities.
• Commitment to professional ethics, patient confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
