Senior Engineer – Cost Control

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Cost Control will lead financial performance of large‑scale construction projects, ensuring budgets are adhered to and cost overruns are prevented. This role works closely with project teams to provide accurate forecasting, reporting and corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project budgets covering labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Monitor expenditures against approved budgets, analyse variances and report to senior management.
• Prepare cost forecasts, assess financial risks and recommend cost‑control measures.
• Manage scope and budget changes, ensuring proper documentation and financial impact assessment.
• Apply Earned Value Management techniques to evaluate cost performance and identify deviations.
• Coordinate with planning and scheduling teams to align timelines and resources with budget constraints.
• Produce periodic cost reports, financial forecasts and management presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 6‑10 years of experience in cost control for construction or real‑estate development projects.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of project budgeting, cost forecasting and variance analysis.
• Practical experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), including CPI analysis.
• Proficiency in SAP ERP for cost tracking and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for financial modelling and analysis.
• Experience with Power BI or similar data‑visualisation tools.
