Senior Environmental Engineer

About the role

The Senior Environmental Engineer will ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian, Royal Commission, Saudi Aramco/Luberef environmental standards across industrial facilities and capital projects. The role involves conducting impact assessments, monitoring emissions and waste, and driving sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Audit facility compliance with Saudi Aramco Environmental Standards, NCEC regulations and international standards, performing site inspections and risk assessments.
• Oversee wastewater treatment, industrial effluent monitoring, air emission tracking, and develop hazardous and non‑hazardous solid waste management programs.
• Participate in Environmental Impact Assessments for new projects and upgrades, integrating Best Available Techniques into designs.
• Develop and execute monitoring programs for soil, groundwater, air quality and noise, and prepare performance reports for management and regulators.
• Support company net‑zero targets by identifying energy efficiency, carbon capture, water conservation and emissions reduction opportunities.
• Investigate environmental incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and lead awareness training for site personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, chemical or civil engineering (with environmental focus) from an accredited university.
• 3‑10 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering within oil & gas, petrochemical or heavy energy sectors.
• Strong familiarity with Saudi Arabian regulations (NCEC, GAMEP, Royal Commission) and international standards (USEPA, IFC).
• Professional certifications such as PE, CEnv, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or NEBOSH are highly preferred.
