Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Offshore)

About the role

Penspen, an energy services company providing engineering, project management, asset management and integrity services to the energy industry, is hiring a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer for an offshore project in Khafji, Saudi Arabia. The role covers the review and validation of instrumentation and control deliverables produced by the EPC contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee instrumentation and control engineering deliverables from the EPC contractor, ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards (ISA, IEC).
• Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams and control logic narratives.
• Validate the integration between control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and field instruments.
• Evaluate vendor submittals, FAT procedures and technical deviations.
• Take part in design reviews and ensure operability and maintainability of control systems.
• Support field verification, loop checks and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE and control system standards.

Required profile

• 12 years of experience, including 6 years in instrumentation and control engineering on major oil and gas/petrochemical projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
• DCS experience is required.
