Senior JIRA Consultant

About the role

The Senior JIRA Consultant will lead the design, customization, and optimisation of Atlassian JIRA solutions across the enterprise. Acting as a subject‑matter expert, you will provide architectural guidance, advanced configuration, and governance for JIRA platforms supporting Agile, DevOps, and ITSM delivery models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end JIRA solution design and implementation for complex enterprise programmes.
• Define and enforce JIRA configuration standards, best practices and operating models.
• Architect advanced workflows, automations, permission schemes and integrations with CI/CD, DevOps and ITSM tools.
• Provide expert‑level JQL, reporting and dashboard design for executive and delivery KPIs.
• Oversee JIRA Cloud/Data Center migrations, upgrades and performance tuning.
• Act as escalation point for L3 issues and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Mentor junior consultants and administrators.
• Collaborate with Agile Coaches, DevOps teams and PMOs to align tooling with Scrum, Kanban and SAFe frameworks.
• Ensure platform security, audit readiness and compliance with enterprise policies.

Required profile

• 7–10+ years of experience working with Atlassian JIRA in large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to lead JIRA Cloud or Data Center implementations and migrations.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and delivering governance artefacts.
