Senior Manager - Delivery Audit

About the role

The Senior Manager – Delivery Audit leads complex, risk‑based internal audit engagements across a capital delivery portfolio that includes construction, infrastructure, engineering, procurement and facilities management. The role provides independent assurance on project delivery controls, cost and change management, contractor performance and programme governance while driving continuous improvement of audit methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute end‑to‑end delivery‑focused audits covering construction contracts, capital procurement and infrastructure programmes.
• Provide assurance over project cost management, including baselines, change orders, claims and earned‑value performance.
• Evaluate contractor and consultant performance against contractual obligations, KPIs and service levels.
• Assess programme and portfolio governance, including stage‑gate decisions and escalation mechanisms.
• Review procurement and tendering processes for fairness, competitiveness and compliance.
• Develop strategic audit plans aligned with organisational risk priorities.
• Supervise audit reports to ensure accuracy, clarity and actionable recommendations.
• Build relationships with senior management to promote risk awareness and control accountability.
• Mentor and coach audit staff, contributing to the department’s annual risk‑based audit plan.
• Collaborate with GRC teams to enhance integrated assurance efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA, Lean Six Sigma, PMP or RMP; Master’s/advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in internal audit, risk assessment, control evaluation and assurance reporting.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale audit engagements and quality assurance reviews.
