Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Power Plant Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design review activities for large‑scale thermal and combined‑cycle power plant projects in Saudi Arabia. The role is based in Riyadh and involves working within a highly technical EPC and Owner’s Engineer environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical design review across thermal and combined‑cycle power plant projects.
• Review EPC engineering submissions, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary deliverables.
• Assess mechanical packages including PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, HMBDs, design calculations, CFD models, manuals and technical studies.
• Evaluate FAT procedures, commissioning documentation, reliability testing and construction methodologies.
• Collaborate with EPC contractors, consultants, vendors and internal engineering teams.
• Support technical compliance, risk mitigation, Hazop/Hazid/SIL reviews, design modifications and field engineering.
• Review IFC/AFC/AFI drawings, vendor submissions, red‑mark‑ups, as‑built drawings and engineering change documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (Mechanical discipline).
• Minimum 10 years of experience on large thermal power projects.
• Strong exposure to EPC and power‑generation environments.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering design software (e.g., CAD).
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling.
• Design calculations and technical studies.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience with PFD, P&ID, GA drawings, HMBD.
• Knowledge of FAT procedures, commissioning and reliability testing.
• Hazop/Hazid and SIL review expertise.
