Senior Mechanical Engineer - Maintenance (Petrochemical Utilities)

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for a leading organization in Saudi Arabia, working in the Utility Department at Sadara. The role is central to the plant's stability, covering the mechanical integrity, maintenance and reliability of world-scale utility assets, and involves troubleshooting complex equipment failures and optimizing the lifecycle of systems that power the petrochemical complex.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of utility assets such as high-pressure boilers, steam turbines and large pumping systems.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations using methods such as 5-Why and Fishbone.
• Implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) to improve MTBF of rotating and static equipment.
• Ensure reliability of steam headers, demineralized water plants and cooling water networks.
• Define the mechanical scope for major turnarounds and supervise overhaul of critical utility machinery.
• Manage third-party contractors so their work meets petrochemical safety and quality standards.
• Analyze vibration reports, oil analysis and thermography data to predict failures.
• Ensure repairs and modifications comply with API 610/617, ASME B31.3 and ASME Section VIII.
• Manage work orders in SAP PM and drive a Zero Harm culture through JSA and PSM compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of maintenance engineering experience in a petrochemical plant or oil refinery.
• Track record maintaining utility equipment such as boilers, RO plants, steam turbines and air compressors.
• Experience leading RCA and presenting technical reliability reports to plant leadership in fluent English.
